This is where it starts! When your ready to book your family session with me I would love to talk with you directly, weather that be with an in person consultation or on the phone. I want to learn a little bit more about you and your family so I can put together the most beautiful session for you. Do you prefer indoors or outdoors? Most family's favor outdoor portraits and personally, that's what I recommended for family's with more than 4 people. I have a small handful of favorite locations that I love to use but I am always up for trying out new venues should you have a special request.
What should I wear?
Your family session is just that... YOUR family session. I want to capture you and your family as your true selves. If you love color, wear color! If you are like me and have 5 pairs of the same black leggings and that's what your comfortable wearing, than awesome! I want you all to be comfortable and be yourselves. I do however have a few suggestions!

Think coordinating, not matching. Incorporate colors and patterns that fit well together.

Don’t be afraid of color but avoid oversize busy patterns! Choose a few neutral colors, and then add a few bright solid accents to your outfits. Accessories such as scarves, necklaces, and clothing layers are great for this.

No logos please. To keep the look timeless, try to avoid trendy clothing with words or logos.

Got kids?

Get your kids excited for the session and let them know how much fun it will be, but no need to over prepare them or add too much pressure for "best behavior"

Don't worry so much! As a mom with 3 young kids myself I know how stressful family photos can be. I have lots of experience working with kids of all ages and have some little tricks I use to bring out some adorable smiles and get them having fun. I promise that if you stay relaxed and leave the rest to me, we will get some beautiful results. Kids pick up on your stress, so stay cool, even when they don’t.

Our goal is to capture their true expressions, and keeping it light and fun is essential to that. As tempting as it is to try and make your kids smile and look at the camera, lifestyle or "un-posed" images are often even more special. So feel free to give your little ones a kiss on the forehead or start a tickle fight! These raw and real photographs will be some of your favorites, I promise.

We have all seen that one snickers commercial right? "Your not you when your hungry". Best behaved children (and adults for that matter) are usually those that are well fed before our session. Feel free to bring treats to reward good behavior during our session.
What is included in a family or couple session?
• In person or on the phone consultation. This is where I will walk you through every step of your upcoming session. I would absolutely love to hear what YOU want to take away from this experience. What is the most important moments you wish to capture and what do you expect to gain from this experience aside from beautiful, timeless memories? I will make this process as easy and as relaxing as possible. It's my job to make sure you have the most positive experience and in turn get the most beautiful final results.
• Shooting Time. Your session will last around 60 minutes start to finish. Just enough time to capture every part of your family. Some of you all together, some of just the kids or maybe some of just mom and dad! I will be sure to get a good variety of poses and images for you to choose from.
